Workshops and Training Programs

As a responsible party in uplifting farmers lives in Sri Lanka, Unipower is taking steps to organize a series of workshops related to various agricultural sectors. One such workshop was held at HARTII on 18th May 2023. The workshop was organized for floriculture growers mainly in Gampaha and Colombo areas with collaboration of Department of Royal Botanical Gardens, Export Development board and the Crop Guard (pvt) Ltd. The program was held with the honorable participation of Dr. (Mrs.) Shelomy Krishnarajah, Director General of the Department of Royal Botanical Gardens.

Crop Diversification

Unipower encourages farmers to diversify their crops to improve resilience to market fluctuations and climate variability. Training should cover the cultivation, management, and market potential of different crops.

Technology Adoption

Unipower facilitates the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, including precision farming, drones, and smart irrigation systems. Training programs help farmers understand the benefits and practical implementation of these technologies. The Technical dissemination was held on 28th November 2023 at Gampaha Botanical Gardens with the participation of Mr. Arnoud Touw, Bizz Manager Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey- ICL, for various stakeholders in floriculture industry.

Climate-Smart Agriculture

Educate farmers on climate-smart agricultural practices that help mitigate the impact of climate change. This may involve training on drought-resistant crops, agroforestry, and sustainable land management.

Extension Services

Unipower has a chain of extension services to provide ongoing support to farmers. Extension officers can offer guidance, answer questions, and keep farmers informed about new developments in agriculture.

Networking and Farmer Groups

Encourage the formation of farmer groups or cooperatives. These groups provide a platform for knowledge sharing, collective decision-making, and accessing resources as a community.

Continuous Learning

We promote a culture of continuous learning among farmers by providing access to resources, literature, and online platforms. Keeping farmers informed about the latest advancements enhances their ability to adapt to changing conditions.
